Modeling the Carbon Cycle

I developed a Carbon Cycle Modeling Workshop, which I used while teaching assistant the graduate class Ecosystem Biogeochemistry at UC Davis (led by Dr. Benjamin Houlton). This material discusses the uses and limitations of dynamical models, instructs students to develop a box model of the carbon cycle, and includes code for running simulations using a simple model I developed for this purpose. Modeling and programming experience are not necessary.

Ecological Modeling: Algebra II

This worksheet, Ecological Modeling using Algebra II, instructs Algebra II students to estimate previous and future atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations by solving a system of three equations based on data from Mauna Loa.

Ocean Circulation

I developed this Ocean Circulation Video for a broad audience. This video describes both surface and deep ocean circulation.
